Free Crisis Support for MSU Students and Families
CARE of Southeastern Michigan’s Recovery United Community Center (RUCC) at 32577 Garfield Rd, Fraser MI 48026 will be the site where students and parents that are impacted by the MSU incident can come together to process their thoughts, feelings and reactions. Individuals trained to help those heal from critical incidents will be on hand to provide information, support and resources.
The event will begin at 11am.
As families begin to prepare to send their loved ones back to school, Macomb County is offering this opportunity for students and parents to come together and allow some space for processing the difficult thoughts and reactions of the past week.
“We at CARE of Southeastern Michigan, our professional partners at Macomb County Community Mental Health and volunteers from the Macomb Intermediate School District believe it is important to come together after a traumatic event in order to begin healing as a community,” shared president & CEO of CARE Susan Styf. “This event includes family members, so they can process their worry and fear. We are happy to offer support to students and family members that may need it.”
Parents can come to find out about how to support their child and work through the fears they may have letting them go back to school as well as continuing to support them through this difficult time.
